Job Advertisement: Occupational Health Engineer
Stockholm Exergi is the energy company for the people of Stockholm, and we have about 800 employees who work every day to reduce the climate impact of Stockholmers. We heat over 800,000 Stockholmers, and our 300 km long district heating network is the hub for the community benefits we create. We have now begun the construction of a carbon capture facility at our biomass power plant in Värtan, with the potential to capture 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which is more than what Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. We need more skilled employees and hope you want to join us on our Exergi journey.
What can we offer you?
With us, you will have a strategic and advisory role where you drive the development of our occupational health work in an operation with high technical complexity and significant social responsibility. You will be a key person in shaping our working methods, strengthening the safety culture, and contributing to a sustainable work environment – with a particular focus on behaviors, leadership, and organizational factors.
Your Role
You will work closely with both management and operational teams and have the mandate to influence both policy and practical implementation. An important part of the assignment is your presence at our facilities – where you meet employees, see the reality, and translate strategies into concrete improvements. This is where you make the biggest difference: through dialogue, observation, and active participation in daily operations.
The role includes:
- A broad network within the entire organization.
- The opportunity to combine practical presence with strategic work.
- Being a driving force in the development of future occupational health work at the forefront of the energy industry.
You will be part of an engaged and competent team that together creates a safe and sustainable work environment. The position is a permanent full-time employment located in Hjorthagen. Travel to our other facilities may occur.
Why work with me?
As a leader, I believe in the power of a strong team where we achieve our goals together. I am attentive to both the individual's and the group's perspectives and see collaboration as a key to success. I encourage personal leadership where you, as an employee, are curious, take initiative, and actively contribute to our collective development.
We celebrate successes together, and I am here to both support and challenge you in your professional journey. We work for a safe and secure work environment where we care for each other – and where a sustainable work life and balance in everyday life is a given.

Curious about us or our facilities?
– It is a mix of strategic and operational work, where I get to talk both with customers about what is good and what can be improved and with developers about how we can solve it. The most enjoyable part is hearing back from customers who have helped with feedback in the development and telling them that we have solved what they wished for, says Camilla, system owner.
